For my video essay, “Living In Between Two Worlds,” I was able to explore my personal journey, from growing up in Tijuana as a young girl to moving to the United States at the age of four. One of the core themes I wanted to express was the challenge of adapting to a new environment, especially learning English after growing up speaking Spanish. This transition shaped much of who I am today, and sharing it through this project allowed me to reflect deeply on that experience.
Working on this video essay challenged me in many ways. It pushed me to open up, not just to my classmates or to my professor, but to myself. I had to be vulnerable and honest about my story, which wasn’t always easy, but it was incredibly rewarding. This project became more than just an assignment, it was a personal milestone in telling my story out loud, something that I had never done before. It was definitely a project that took me out of my comfort zone but also made me learn so much about myself.
